'How to Defeat the 'Topsy-Turvy' and Conquer Your Giant
~By Fame Agidife
'Introduction: The Agony of 'Almost'
As the old saying goes, "nearly cannot kill a bird." I tell you today that you are destined for more than near misses.
Have you ever wondered why some people work tirelessly but never achieve their goals? Why do some individuals—be it athletes, artists, or entrepreneurs—remain stuck in a state of "potential," never breaking through to true success? They are living proof that "nearly" is not enough. They are victims of the "Agony of 'Almost'."
The cause is a phenomenon I call the ‘distractive forces of topsy-turvy.’
This lecture is your blueprint for defeating it. You can become the conqueror you have always dreamed of being, just like the young man David who, with a single, focused shot, defeated the mighty giant Goliath and changed his destiny forever.
Part 1: Defining Your Enemy and Your Arsenal
*The Enemy: The ‘Distractive Forces of Topsy-Turvy’
What are these forces?
They are the disarray of options, conflicting thoughts, and internal anxieties that naturally appear to distract you at the very moment you are on the verge of a breakthrough. This phenomenon occurs at every major decision point in our lives, cutting across all endeavors—marriage, business, politics, sports, and military strategy.
What truly slows a person down at that critical moment of action is not some external curse or "witchcraft." It is the **internal weakness** to push through these forces that pins down their decision to act at the right time. Their inability to maneuver past the 'topsy-turvy'—the 'what ifs', the 'maybes', the 'second-guessing'—is what prevents them from scoring their goals.
This is rooted in a natural law: wherever one option exists, others are bound to appear. Variety creates a natural competition among your thoughts. Your results in life will vary based on your ability to extinguish the fire of failure (hesitation) and ignite the fire of success (decision) when it matters most.
This is where the antidote comes in. To defeat the internal enemy of 'topsy-turvy', you must master your *internal* arsenal.
*The Arsenal: The 5 Pillars of the Conqueror's Aim
These are the five key principles of success that serve as your guide against the ‘distractive forces of topsy-turvy’:
1.KNOWLEDGE (The "What"):** This is your foundation. It is the raw data, the proven facts, and the deep understanding of your tools, your field, and yourself. Knowledge is not guessing; it is what you have *proven*. It is the antidote to **ignorance**.
2. INTELLIGENCE (The "How"):** This is your analysis. It is the ability to take your Knowledge and apply it to a specific problem. Intelligence is about forming a plan, seeing patterns, and strategizing your move. It is the antidote to confusion
3. WISDOM (The "Why" and "When"):** This is your judgment. It is deeper than Intelligence. It is the profound understanding of 'why' you are acting and when is the right moment. Wisdom provides purpose and perspective, stabilizing you against fear and doubt. It is the antidote to 'recklessness and hesitation.
4. SMARTNESS (The "Tactics"):** This is your agility. It is the battlefield "quickness" to adapt, maneuver, and seize the initiative. While Intelligence makes the plan, Smartness executes the tactics. It is the antidote to rigidity.
5. FOCUS (The "Execution"):** This is the final, decisive strike. It is the ability to block out all internal 'topsy-turvy' forces and all external noise, channel all your preparation, and execute the plan with absolute commitment. It is the antidote to distraction.
To succeed, you must be affirmative, decisive, and clinical. You cannot afford to be the person who *nearly* hits the target. You must be like David, whose mastery of these five pillars ensured his sling never missed its mark.
Part 2: A Conqueror's Case Study: David vs. Goliath
David was a master of the Conqueror's Aim. He did not allow protocols, procedures, or man-made standards to become his enemy. He concentrated on the true task, and his victory was a perfect execution of the 5 Pillars.
*1. KNOWLEDGE (He knew his tools)*
David was first confronted with a 'topsy-turvy' distraction: King Saul's "better" option.
*1 Samuel 17:38-40: And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of mail... And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him.
> And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook... and his sling was in his hand...
David rejected the king's armor because he had no Knowledge of it. It was unproven. But he knew his sling. He had proven it against a lion and a bear. He chose proven KNOWLEDGE over unproven "prestige."
2. INTELLIGENCE (He formed a plan)
David's Intelligence** allowed him to analyze the threat. Goliath was a slow-moving, heavily armored tank. His strength was in close-quarters combat. David was fast, light, and a ranged expert. His plan was not to match strength-for-strength, but to use his different strengths to exploit his enemy's one weakness: the exposed forehead.
3. WISDOM (He understood his 'Why')
Goliath attacked David's mind first, cursing him and trying to fill him with the 'topsy-turvy' of fear. David's Wisdom was his shield. He knew why he was there.
1 Samuel 17:45-47: Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied... that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
This profound sense of purpose (his 'Why') made him psychologically immovable. It anchored his mind, giving him the courage that no other soldier had.
4. SMARTNESS (He seized the initiative)
David did not wait for the giant to close the distance. He demonstrated tactical Smartness by controlling the engagement.
*1 Samuel 17:48: ...David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.
He 'ran' toward the threat. He seized the initiative and executed his plan on *his* terms, not Goliath's. This agility prevented the giant from deploying his own weapons.
5. FOCUS (He executed the strike)
This was the final moment. All the preparation, all the planning, and all the purpose came down to one action. The 'topsy-turvy' would have screamed: "He's huge! You'll miss! Run!"
David's Focus silenced that internal noise.
*1 Samuel 17:49-51: And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth... Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword... and slew him, and cut off his head therewith.
One shot. Perfect execution. He did not "nearly" hit the target. He prevailed.
Conclusion: Your Call to Action**
To become a conqueror, you must first define what you want out of life with a clear and sound mind. You must build your **Knowledge**, apply **Intelligence** to form a plan, and anchor it all in the Wisdom of your purpose.
Opportunities will always come. Your success depends entirely on your preparation.
When your moment arrives—when your "Goliath" stands before you—you must be ready. This "Goliath" may be a career-changing presentation, a new business venture, a difficult conversation, or a personal goal. The 'distractive forces of topsy-turvy' will rise up, whispering 'almost' and 'nearly'.
In that moment, you must be **Smart**. You must be agile. You must "run toward" your challenge.
And finally, you must be **Focused**. Stop overthinking. If you must think, be quick about it. The time to shoot is not the time to think; it is the time to execute what you have already planned.
Go and shoot your dreams. Score your goals. Be a conqueror.
