In creating a subjective reality, many artists make use of various tools in exploring their imaginative process. Nigerian female hyper-realism artist, Chiamonwu Joy, adopts graphite and charcoal in creating images that can be easily perceived as real.
Her very realistic collection is centered on the culture and tradition of the Igbos – from the Chief performing a dance routine, the hands offering the sacred kola nuts, to the ceremonial salutation showcasing the hand fan of the royals.
As expected from her focus on art, her images will create a little debate in your mind as to whether the images are coming alive or not.
