Mubarak Batambuze has been hailed as a hero since he slew the man-eating monster, which was more than four metres long and weighed about 600kg, according to Ugandan Wildlife Authority ranger Oswald Tumanya.UGANDA, Africa, Monday February 9, 2015 – A grieving widower, whose pregnant wife was eaten by a massive crocodile, exacted revenge on the beast by slaughtering it with a spear after a 90-minute duel to the death.
The massive predator had snatched Batambuze’s eight-month pregnant wife Demeteriya Nabire as she collected water from Lake Kyoga with a group of friends about four months ago.
According to local media reports, the killer crocodile was suspected of eating six women and children who had gone to fetch water at the same spot, but until Batambuze took matters into his own hands, residents of the area had failed to stop the carnage.
