The 22 old Otedola beautiful diva has changed the face of DJ genres from the normal stage record play the World is used to into a full stage performing art.
Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, also known as DJ Cuppy, who is an international DJ and producer and the daughter of the famous Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola had succeeded in combining three arts of the stage such as choreography, the stage record play and singing to have created her own niche in the superstars over crowded entertainment industry.
DJ Cuppy who once lived in Ilupeju for six years before moving to Ikeja. Later moved to London for her GCSE's and A-Levels. Got graduated from King's College, London in July 2014 with a degree in Business and Economics. And later this year got graduated from New York University having completed her Master's Degree in Music Business, and now lives in London.
The Otedola diva who was the 2014 resident DJ at the MTV Africa Music Awards in Durban, and then played at the Tatler and Christie's Art Ball in London, and at the Financial Times Luxury Summit in Mexico City is still relatively unknown in the industry back home in Nigeria here as still a fresher the entertainment industry.
She had kept critics a tongue wagging for sometimes now, all wondering as to what she get to offer as a DJ in males dominated superstars industry.
Trust the comedy segment of the industry, her adventure into the industry had become the first stanzas of their jest making.
The ambitious New York University Master's Degree Music Business graduate who once declared that " She is a bit too career driven to be dating anybody right now", got her first compilation mix called House of Cuppy in London and Lagos in July 2014 before launching it in New York on September 2, 2014.That year, Cuppy also launched the music management and content production business Red Velvet Music Group, which is now located in London.
In January 2015, Cuppy was featured on the cover of the Guardian Life to celebrate a new generation of African women. In March 2015, Cuppy was named the official DJ for the 2015 Oil Barons Charity in Dubai, and became the first African act to have ever performed at the event. She was featured in the 2015 April/May issue of Forbes Woman Africa.
Later that year she interned at Jay-Z's Roc Nation. In an interview with Tush Magazine, DJ Cuppy described her sound as "Neo-Afrobeats" which is a fusion of Electro house and Afrobeats.
In 2016, Cuppy moved to London.
On October 13th, 2017, she released 'Green Light', her first official single featuring Tekno.
In April 2014, DJ Cuppy was appointed by Nigeria's Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation (Edem Duke) as the tourism ambassador for the country's "Fascinating Nigeria" campaign.
