We need Strong leaders to build us Strong Institutions.
Am often appalled, sounds illogically contradictory to my hearing when people often quote the famous statement of the African American, Barrack Hussein Obama the current American President that “Africa doesn't need strongmen, it needs strong institutions,”... In benefit of not interpreting him out of context I want to believe that he was actually referring to tyrant leaders who place self importance above rule of law, those who they rule and the fear of God. On that I agree with him completely because to me tyranny is a crime against humanity and a crime against God in every formation of it. Else, what kind of strong institutions are lead by weak men? Strong institutions are built by strong men, strong leaders and principals who believe strongly on the strong principles of the institutions they built to the betterment of such institutions. It takes just one strong family member to build a strong family dynasty that lasts into generations while in the other hand it takes twelve full fledge blooded weak family members that comprises of able body men and women to build a family of abject poverty. It takes fifty years for a nation of fifty million weak men and women to build a tailed nation that can not get an ordinary independence from their colonial masters while in the other hand it takes just one strong leader to lead a nation of less than Five hundred people into independence. It took just one night by a very small Israeli armies lead by Moshe Dayan the iconic Israeli one eye general to destroy all the war armories of all the allied Arab nations who sworn to Israeli's total extermination may Israeli go into independence in 1947 that lead to the historical battle of Suez Canal. It took one strong black leader Nelson Madiba Mandela to build the today’s democratic system of government in South Africa. It took a strong leadership sense of character for general Abdusalami Abubaka and his then lead military administration to prepare a new constitution, conduct an election and handed over government to the civilian government of Chief Olusegun Obasonjo in less than a year from June 9, 1998 to may 1999. It took only a strong will, a strong leadership character, a selfless sacrifice for President Goodluck Jonathan to not just have encouraged a strong political opposition to strive in Nigeria, but make a call to his opponent to congratulate him, accept defeat and successfully handed over government to an opposition political party for the first time in Nigeria history. Building a strong viral institution with a strong human legacy is a hard feet to achieve if leaders are weak. It is only when a leader is both mentally and willfully strong that he can be able to build strong institutions and leave strong legacies behind for others to follow.
You cannot be too weak and expect your institution or your business empire to be strong. The common sense saying that round peg fit into round hole is still very much applicable when it comes to result oriented leadership delivery and that is why you can not tell us that you want to build a strong business institution or a strong business empire then you expect yourself to be weak. You must build yourself to be strong, else you get a weak institution that collapses within the shortest time period.
In the course of building a business institution you must put at the back of your mind that it is human beings that you are to deal with who have equal human intelligence like you and for a human being to follow a fellow human being he must do something extraordinary to convince his fellow human being to follow him as his leader. You must live above board at all times, you must see beyond your time at all times, you must be a man of exemplary character, you must strive to provide solutions when there are no solutions, you must be self discipline, you must be a disciplinarian, you must be determined, you must be lovely, you must be very generous, very importantly you must be very spiritual, you must be constant in researches on the subject matter of the business institution you are building, you must read to be a great leader and command a great command of followership etc. By FameAgidife.
