A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;" and to this moment it is a time to celebrate with you as our dear sister and a friend which is the very essence of us all gathered here today.
That henceforth Whenever the names of Chattered Accountants are being mentioned around the World you Ms Adelomo Ajayi will also be mentioned too as one.
Again, over some centuries ago, a British writer, a colleague and a mentor of mine, William Shakespeare once said that there are three categories of stars in life. In his words as he puts it;
"Malvalio:
In my stars I am above thee; but be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon 'em."
Adelomo, You and I fall into the second category of stars because we both achieve greatness ourselves, we are not born among the princes and the princesses of this World, though we are born princes and princesses of God's category and that is why whenever we venture to achieve greatness we achieve it just like any other among the earthly ranking.
I do not know why you chose me out of so many others to be the Chairman of this great event of yours that mean so much to you as a landmark that begins all other great things to come in your way as you journey on top of the ladder of your leadership career but whatever reason and criteria you used I believe am equally fit and worthy of the task.
Some years back, then, I was just a young fresher teaching in my eldest brother's school, Scholar Agidife Int'l School in Enheren, Warri. I told my eldest brother to buy me a computer, he knew what I wanted to do with the computer, which he later joked with his wife, "Famous wants to be writing books like Whole Soyika". He did not buy me the computer but that did not stop me from what I was passionate to do, so I started writing on long notes and short note books with hard covers. Some of those writings I do not even know how and where I lost them as I was always relocating from place to place in the course of my life journey.
But today, am not only writing with some of the most sophisticated computer technology being developed in my generation but I write directly on the Internet and I tell you today whenever names of writers and bloggers are mentioned around the World my name is also mentioned too as one.
In life you get to follow your dreams and do what you get to do. Because in most times in life, following your dreams might be the only thing that will bring you great joy on the long run. Today, do you know that even the engineering work that I do for a living had not given me one quarter of goodwills, recognition and authority that writing had given me today in life.
So lastly as a word of advice to you before I let you go, you have started very well on a very good foundation and footing in your young leadership career and I urge you to create a platform with the aid of the ICT in our hands and the Internet on our palm to engage others as many as you can with those ideas and knowledge you have acquired as a way of give to the society you belong and by so doing I assure you, you will not only excel in your career but also you will be able to establish yourself as an authority in your own right as a growing career leader and a whole lots of bountiful returns that will be pressed unto your lap as a giver of knowledge.
So as the saying goes, givers never lack but more to it that you have never heard before is that givers are no more slaves to what they give because they are Kings of what they give!!!
